Should You Dare To Dream?

Psssst! Hey you. …Yeah, you.

Didn’t you used to have a dream?

You know – the dream where you were going to create big change in the world.

The one where you were going to make a difference.

The one that showed people it was possible to have a profitable business that helps people too.

So…what happened to your dream?

It’s still there you know.

It’s that teeny little voice in your head.

It’s the slow gnawing at the base of your belly.

It’s that tiny ember that stokes your heart when rights are wronged.

…it’s following you!

How many times have you told it to be quiet?

…that it’s stupid.

…that it will never work.

…that you’ll never be able to make money at it.

…that someone else is probably already doing it.

Yet it’s still there, poking at you.

What if you had nothing to lose?

What if your dream couldn’t fail?

What if your fears were simply masking your knowing?

If this wasn’t yours to do, you wouldn’t be scared, right?

We become fearful of trying something new as a way to keep us safe in the familiar.

We become more fearful the closer we are to doing it. Our ego is fighting us to stay in the known but once you’ve step into the new, the different, the unfamiliar, our ego has to recalibrate. You’re in uncharted waters. It actually becomes easier.

It’s walking through the fear and fighting the inner gremlins that’s the hard work. Finding and facing what’s holding you back is the hardest part.

What if you trusted the dream and it let it lead your course of action?

Everything you need to know to run a business can learned or hired out. And it doesn’t have to happen all at once. You can create a plan of action and implement as your time and finances allow.

You need only the courage to try.

A dream is your soul showing you your potential – what’s possible – what’s yours to do.

Whether your dream is new or old, half-fulfilled or almost forgotten, how will you feel years from now looking back and wondering “what if”?

What if… Those are haunting words when paired with an unfulfilled dream.

Now I’m not telling you to quit your job and jump in unprepared (unless you can afford to do so). But you owe it to yourself to explore your dream further.

Ask yourself this: What do I really really really really want? Then start from there.

You don’t have to do it alone. You just need the courage to begin. Even if your idea fails, you will have learned valuable lessons that will lead you to the next step – maybe a bigger more fulfilling dream – and you will never have to wonder “What if…?”
